So I did not really want to mention this with the last update, but will now. There was a small communication issue in regards to the cedar lining which is on the floor and back. It was suppose to be red cedar as I thought that looked better with the darker cabinet. When I pointed this out to the owner, he had said he would fix the problem right away. I told him that if it was a big job that I could live with the white cedar, but he would hear none of that and insisted he get the cabinet built as I wanted it. Man, what service....24 hours or so later and here is the cabinet with the red cedar and stain on the upper portion. It still needs some finish on the top, but the color is there. Doors are out for glass and it should be done next week.

I COULD NOT be more pleased with the service I have received with this build.

Thanks for looking:

I bet the inside will be fragrant. It looks like Eastern red cedar. Gorgeous!

The physical build is certainly coming together and now I see other aspects are also converging!

Tom - this is really nice, congratulations!

Always great to get a quality product from quality people--glad they made it right for you.

Excited to hear how well the humidity system works for you.

Really looks beautiful!

Guitar cabinets are the way to go. I have two - one made by AccessNSight and one made by Jim Atchley of Guitar Guardian. It makes it so much easier to get to your guitars and it's a beautiful addition to your home.

Enjoy.

Yeah, I think they leave the cedar unfinished as it helps to maintain the humidity so at least I know the moths will stay away also!!!

I think that could be arranged!

Exactly my thoughts, I made it clear I would live with the white, but he would have nothing to do with anything but making it right! That is nice these days!!!

I think you need to consider building a new house, properly humidified, to preserve that gorgeous humidification cabinet. I, too, would be interested in how the humidification system performs. I currently reside in an area with a perfect year-round guitar climate, but anticipate moving to an area with major seasonal changes. I find case humidification to be a relatively poor way to achieve even humidification, and too prone to creating water damage from leaks and drips. And I just hate the inaccessibility and constant risk of damage involved in constantly working the cases. I'm hoping to find a reliable, easily serviced method of maintaining either a guitar closet or a full room. Congratulations on such a well-conceived and beautiful project.

I will let everyone know as soon as I get a handle on the humidifying. As posted above, I am quite confident in the system...I agree with all you say about cases and case humidification (I guess that is obvious by this build!).

Thanks Kerbie! I agree, I really like the darker cedar and when the glass is in and the doors hung I think it will be really sharp. I am anxious to see how the LED lighting looks as well!
