Default Glue For Loose Binding - Is Std Wood Glue Bad?

I have an area where the binding is coming off a guitar. It just came unglued, but still sits perfectly. It's obviously not structural at all, so is there an issue with using std wood glue to get it down again, or is that something a special glue must be used for?

Wood glue is used to glue wood to wood. Not much good with nonporous stuff.

John Arnold uses this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...X4U6JVF9&psc=1

Watch Bryan Kinsey’s YouTube video before you make the repair.

I've used StewMac's "Bind All" and have never had any issues over 10 years. It is really good with the plastic bindings, but I have used it with wood-wood also with no issues.

Bind all is great stuff but like CA, which is what I prefer for repairs like that, you have to be VERY careful. Apply it very lightly with a flat thinned tipped tooth pick and wipe any squeeze out away from the guitar over the binding. And actually try real hard to have no squeeze out. The stuff damages the finish on the guitar.

Wood glue does work if there are wood fibers stuck to the binding, otherwise as mentioned it won't last long. Even so best to use a proper binding glue for repair.

But wood glue is probably best if it's wood binding.

I like the BSI medium glue on the binding as well as the thin. Despite it's name, it is still fairly thin, just has a little more body which seems helpful at times. Has anyone used canopy glue for binding work? It supposedly works well and does not affect the finish as some of the other glues. I have not used it personally however.
