Default My first time filing nut slots

I have a few guitars whose nut slots were a little high. So, I decided to order some nut slotting files as well as this nut slotting gauge from stewmac.

This gauge makes this job such a breeze!

I had a target for each nut slot height. And, each "target" left some room in case I over filed by a bit. Once I came within a few thousandths from my target, I stopped.

I based my target heights on my Taylor 514ce, which to me, has perfect action at the nut.

Here's where I ended up on each of the guitars I adjusted (in inches):
