The reason Peter had to raise his rates is the cost of tires for that Veyron.
(Plus the grounds keeper who rakes his driveway.)

<- me, green with envy, Peter!

Nice new ride Peter

Default Soundboard done!!

Recently got word from Peter that the soundboard bracing is done...

He should be getting started on the sides soon.

Man...these pictures trickling in really is a true test of patience. I wish I could show y'all a shot of the back, but the pic I got from Peter...well it was a little blurry so I'll have to hold off til I get a better one. For now, here are the sides being shaped. I didn't realize how oily wood could get...

This last one's a shot of the oil residue left on the paper after bending.

Until next time...

Default Back on track...

Just when I thought that Peter had forgotten about me, it turns out that the Madrose was giving him fits...or his drum sander anyway. After at least 7 rolls of sandpaper on the back alone , this is what he ended up with...

What do y'all think?

That is BEAUTIFUL! There is definitely a lot of heat generated with a drum sander and oily woods will load up paper in a hurry. I just went through the same thing with a set of Cocobolo...at $35/box of four rolls, this makes guitar building quite expensive...

Default Progress

Peter, with his compassionate heart, took pity on me and got some more work done on the guitar and even sent me progress pics. The neck block has been attached to the sides and the sinker redwood soundboard has been put on as well.

The obligatory clip shot...

I can't believe it's actually coming together. Am I the only one mesmerized by the inherent glow of the sinker top? Can't wait to see it under finish!

Your guitar is looking extremely nice. I always enjoy seeing Peter's builds; they all seem to have an elegance about them.

Looking great "HookEm", Peter certainly knows how to build a stunning guitar.

Wait until you see the Sinker Glow under finish and light. Mine (See link in my signature) looks similar to yours which is wonderful to look at but the tone is even better!

I must agree. There truly is something elegant about his builds. And with that, shall we move on to some more pictures...

Installation of the upper transverse brace

Center seam reinforcement

Notching for back braces

Pressing time

Thanks to Peter for the flood of pictures. I was at work when he emailed me, and I couldn't help but stop what I was doing and open up every picture! I really gotta stop harassing him with all the emails for updates, though. I'm starting to feel a little bad. Thanks again, Peter!!

Actually, I sometimes regret not getting a cutaway, but it's a little late for that now.....the box is closed!! Maybe next time .

Peter should be getting to the soundport soon if he hasn't already started on it.
