Saw one of the SG zoots at Best Buy this week. I'm afraid it was hideous.

Another thumbs-down vote here. I generally like Gibson's products, but some of the guitars they've come out with in the last year don't appeal to me at all.
They rarely do signature models- then when they do, it's a Jimi Hendrix model? The same Jimi Hendrix who made the Fender Strat the most famous guitar in rock? Am I missing something?

I've never been a fan of the SG body style.

But I do like the looks of this wood! I love wood, I love the look of wood grain, and I like taking things just a little too far sometimes. So this just fits the bill.

I'd pay maybe $300 tops for a LP like this, though I imagine the effect wouldn't be quite so obvious on an LP. I'd want it just for something interesting and fun.
