Default Case For A Baritone

Where do you get a case for a Baritone Guitar?
Thinking about an Alvarez ABT60.
I did a quick Google search and didn't find any.

Matt Mustapick's came in a Cedar Creek case. I don't know if it was custom or not.

unless they are quite long scale, the ones i've saw fit in the regular size case that fits the body style.

such as a taylor baritone fits in the regular taylor GS case

not sure what the body style is on the alvarez(probably jumbo).

another option is a gigbag-taylor makes or made some very nice thickly padded jumbo cases some time back, you can find those on musiciansfriend and such-i have one i might sell, brand new, black, nice zippered multi pockets on the outside(not velcro). can send you dimensions if you like.

good luck

When I purchased my Alvarez baritone from Maple Street Guitars I ordered it with the case they offer. It is an Alvarez branded jumbo case with arched top. I believe it was about $100, pretty decent quality, 4 latches. Have a picture or two of the case on my Iphone, PM me your email address and I will forward it to you. When I get home later on tonight I will see what model number it is.

When I read the thread title I was thinking the question was going to be how to make a case for buying a baritone guitar!

You are actually correct.
I'm trying to make a case for owning one and if I do get one I will need a case for it.
It's all so complicated!
Thanks for the responses everyone.

Default Gig bag?

Has anybody come across a gig bag that will fit the Alvarez ABT60? It's hard to find gig bag dimensions online, but many of those I found that call themselves super jumbo are actually at least an inch too narrow.

I'll buy the Alvarez hardshell JC1 if I have too, but I'd prefer something that's easier to store when I'm not using it, and I really don't need the protection of a hardshell case.

I got the Alvarez case and the guitar at Maple Street.
The case looks nice but the latches are terrible. It takes 2 hands to close and latch the case.
Levy Soft Cases are nice.
There are a lot of choices.
I have a buddy that got one for his Guild Jumbo.

Just a thought - any shoe repair shop that also repairs luggage should be able to easily change out the latches for you. Yes, you'd be out of pocket for the parts and the labor, but it'll still probably cost significantly less than buying a decent quality gigbag.

Thanks Wade.
I'll look into that.
It's a shame that the Alvarez case has such poor latches.

L-20A, thanks again for the link. I was able to get a Levy's EM20J Jumbo Economy Gigbag from a dealer for $44.95. Not especially well padded, but it will do for the occasions I need transport the guitar, and it fits the ABT60 with a little room to spare.

You will be able to get by with a 12 string guitar case as well if you don't want to spend custom dollars. Look at the dimensions on the case info, you'll be able to pick one up for a lot less than a custom, that's for sure.

Depending on scale, you might be able to get by with a 12-string case for the body style.
