Carvin amps
Any love for the Carvin VT50 out there? Seems like it would be a good all around gigging amp but I have yet to try one. Reviews by owners say it helps to do the Hasserl modification. I need a head that has 20 or more watts and is lighter than my Music Man HD130, too heavy to lug around for me now.

Unless you really must have a head/bottom the current hot ticket in Carvinland is the V3MC, a 4XEL84 three-channel (with boost, giving you six-channel versatility) switchable 50/22/7W 1X12" combo that comes in at 36 lbs. net - less than your MM head alone; here's a link:
http://www.carvinamplifiers.com/coll...be-micro-combo There's a lot going on there for $699 - a heckuva lot more than the VT50 head or Nomad/BelAir combos - and if you use code PJ4E50 before July 6th they'll give you an additional $50 off; one of these with an uber-efficient Eminence speaker (they've got a few in the 102-103dB range) should be all the amp you'll ever need - and your back will thank you for it... |

Seriously good amp in my opinion .... Fender like clean tones. (Great value for money also).
If I wasn't intent on getting a Fender tube amp (to join my solid state Fender Mustang), I would seriously consider a Carvin amp. (Can't help it if I see the electric guitar world with Fender colored glasses). Last edited by Steel and wood; 07-01-2015 at 05:04 AM. |

That Carvin looks really cool, how about the Blackstar 20 head?
