yo! In a way it depends on the relative humidity in your house. Do you have a hygrometer to monitor RH? Anyways, you can google the soap dish sponge humidifier. I've also put inside the soundhole a moist sponge in a ziplock with holes.....just don't want water to drip in guitar.

And then there's the oasis soundhole humidifier made specificically for guitars and you can also buy a humidifier at local Walmart type store, often in the cold remedy aisles. Etc etc!

But as an FYI my mini and some of the others that experienced top seam separation didn't happen because of humidity issues. There is no tone bar brace to support the top seam and so it's a fragile area on these gs minis.

Yo eagle!

I did not have the additional crack which splays off of top seam that you do, so mine was a little more straightforward.

Anyways, I worked in some titebond into seam, cleaned up with water and called it good. BUT, it left a glue colored line in the seam that was unsightly to some.

So in retrospect I should have added some Clamping pressure to close the gap completely. I also probably would use hot hide glue as well but that's a personal preference and I don't think it's necessary to get a clean looking line. Hope that helps!

Look for a couple of threads where fazool repaired his D-15 in this forum section.

They contain all you need to know, and much more.

Indeed, that was an informative thread. That's why I in retrospect wish I would have clamped! Darnit.

Anyways here it is:

Thank you.

So, how would you clamp it shut?
The top is attached to the body,
how could you squeeze the top shut
with it still being attached to the body?

I'd do it like fazool did here

http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...9&postcount=52

but you've got to have the clamps! I suppose you could wrap it tightly with tape as redir shows in fazools thread. If indeed you get a light colored glue line along seam then you could use a marker of some sort as Charles tauber suggests in fazools thread. I'd confirm humidity and then humidify if needed first, just as a reminder.
