Your welcome! I love those moments. You can also use a little hand plane to remove most of the meat but I start with 100 grit so it goes pretty fast. Then clean it up with 180 and your good to go.

After cutting the purfle channel you can see how I inset the "Maverick" pieces. This creates a nice sharp look between the inlayed sections and the purfle ring. Next I dry fit the purfle combo which consists of a thin(.030") black/maple/black purfle, a thin(.035") BRW strip, and another thin black/maple/black purfle. I use Titebond and clamp until dry.

Looking great, Stephen--really love your signature rosette.

Thank you! I love my signature rosette as well. Gretchen Menn is a dear friend and a fabulous player(and human). I built her EROS guitar early last year and feel lucky to be part of her musical journey. Gretchen loves gypsy jazz music so between albums and touring with Zepparella(all female Zeppelin tribute band) she put together this fun video. I have a cameo in the video as one of the poker players. I'm the shaved head, red beard, purple shirt, black vest fella!

Here is the rosette after scrapping it flush and cutting out the soundhole. I will clean it up during the final thickness process.
