Default A custom Michaud 00-R for LP...

Congrats, it's a fun process with Joel. Mine is at the finisher, so I'm hoping I'll have it next month. Joel has been great with tweaking some design elements if I wasn't 100% with it. But most, if not all, of his ideas where better than I imagined.

Thanks for the kind words, folks...especially those on behalf of Joel and his work.

Here's just a tiny photo-update from Joel:

Here's a quick update with a few interior/back photos...

Joel said that he'd never detailed all the steps on his back-bracing process...here are a few of the steps:

Congratulations on landing yourself on Joel's list! That is as fine a set of HRW as I have ever seen. I really like how the end of the fret board continues into the rosette. Can't wait to see what Joel comes up with

Larry,

While I'm sorry to hear about your continued physical problems with playing larger guitars, I'm excited for you as you begin this process with Joel. I also love how Simon pointed you to a fellow luthier whom he felt could better serve your needs, even though it meant he wouldn't get that business. That speaks volumes about Mr. Fay. Hoping this one turns out to be all you need it to be!

Thanks...and yes, there are more than a few good people out there in our community...Simon is a gem amongst human beings.

Here's some more tidbits from Joel:

I really like Joel's new refined shape for his 00. It looks like it was designed to fit right in your lap! Very nice! Very ergo friendly!

The new 00 shape does look great. Much more in line with his already beautiful OM. Is this the first guitar to be built with this new shape?

Actually my Michaud is the first to have the new 00 shape and will also have Joel's new slotted head stock design. It should be completed in just a few weeks. I feel very fortunate.

Here's the latest:

While it's still a "boat" (rims and back joined) Joel sent this next photo with the following caption:

"I use a fixture that temporarily joins the top so I can do some voice work as if it were attached to the rims. Helps me get a bit more constant with regards to tonal and structural mix."

I do fully approve of this message!
