For my custom X20 order I went with the following options, rated here in importance to me:
1. Custom neck shape, exact replica of my Santa Cruz 00 1929 V. (Love SC V necks) 2. Short scale, 24.6" 3. Woody top, Cocobolo veneer 4. K&K Pure Mini pickup 5. Amber color back and side Everything else is standard X20 specs. Custom options considered by not worth the $$$ to me: 1. Pinless bridge I also opted to not get a hard case but rather just the gig bad since I never use hard cases anyway and the X20 really doesn't need one. That saved me some money. Very much looking forward to receiving this guitar in a few months. |

Does Emerald offer a 16" wide lower bought or bigger model?

If money was no object, I'd order an X20 with the open headstock. It is beautiful, a work of art...

The only standard size guitar Emerald offers is the X20 and according to their website, the lower bout width is 15-1/4". I could be wrong, but I think the only model wider than 16" is the doubleneck Chimaera at 17".

Yeah, it does. AGFer EvanB has a custom X10 OSN (nylon) with that headstock. The X20 shown is a nylon string version, but I'm pretty sure they offer that headstock as an option on the steel string version as well. Btw, iirc, Emerald no longer offers the barn door side electronics, opting for the more discreet offerings from Baggs, k&k, etc.

I am a HUGE fan of open headstocks! I just love how they look. On Emerald's, the gloss makes it even more dramatic. However the option is currently listed as "Prices FROM $700" (emphasis added). Well you are almost half way to on Opus X20 right there. So as was said below... if money was no object.

I have an X20 Artisan now and am having an X20 Artisan custom built. It's a short scale, slimmer profile neck, that's not as wide at the body (fret board not as wide) as the regular Artisan, and I'm still going back and forth whether to make it a narrow nut too. The standard 1 3/4" plays perfectly and almost everything else I have is that, but I really like 1 11/16 necks when I've had or played them. It's a woody too.

They did until just recently. The X30. They may still have the molds and you can always ask what costs would be involved in having one made for you.

That is beautiful, even without the rather nice logo on the headstock.
Methos, why the K & K pickup, just personal preference? It looks like it retails for half the Baggs cost. Puerto Player, isn’t it amazing how much a 1/16” change in width can make. You would think that 1/16th spread over 6 strings would not make much difference. I need to ask how wide the wide neck option is, they have 1 7/8 and 2” width necks. And now you all have me rethinking the color. Kind of wanted blue, but that red is dramatic. I don’t want it to look like something from the Esteban collection. Not that these guitars look like Estebans. Hmmmmm

pseudo non sequitur
If you think of colors in terms of octaves, green is about one octave above red which is why that's the most common version of color blindness.
