Default A nice load out...

I'd been working on a few projects and had accumulated seven guitars at the studio so it was time for a clean-up after a vocal session on Sunday evening. Yes, me, singing.

The crowd of cases on the dock was basically the "overdub all stars" minus the Tele: Jazz Bass, Taylor 710ce, Gibson ES-335, G&L S-500, and Taylor 354ce. Along with a few more bits and bobs, that was a good little trunk-full in my wife's Ford Escape.

So now we are in the final stages of the mix - chasing the fade to find stray noises, shopping the mix off to other speakers, editclean-ups, the irritating details, etc.

Thanks!

Same dock, some of the same guitars, different session. It's a cool dock. When they were constructing this building, the bricks were hand-hewn on the site.

Looks like an uncovered/non-weatherproof AC outlet on that brick wall?

Yep. It is a quad box and one pair of the outlets is now uncovered. For years my company offered the only satellite video uplink in the area and this dock provided the access point for other networks to come and connect to the earth station and antenna farm. The pinkish panel to the right contains the access points for the media. I've been there when all the top networks were covering a hurricane or presidential visit from this dock. Through years of abuse the outlet covers were repeatedly damaged and repaired. Eventually our primary media access point was moved to another building, local network affiliates bought their own uplink transmitters, and the dock reverted to its primary use for load-ins, making me happy. Someone's gotta "get around to it" and replace the cover, eh?

My recording suite is seven doors in from this location.

I hope you can prop those doors open! What a PITA it is carrying guitars in both hands having to stop and put one down every time you need to open a door (my truck to my music room is 4 doors, I usually just go through the open front of my carport - one less door!)

Two of those doors are security doors and must stay shut. The rest all have chocks or kick-stops. And yes, it is a pain in the neck, but we have some, ahem, unique security challenges.
