TRS-TRS vs. TRS-XLR Cables
Say you have a pair of active, nearfield monitors that have both 1/4" and XLR inputs. Also say you have an audio interface with 1/4" outputs. Assuming the quality of the cables are top-notch and 6-feet in length, is there any noticeable advantage to buying TRS-XLR cables vs TRS-TRS cables? Obviously the TRS end would be connected to the interface's outputs and the XLR or other TRS end would be connected to the monitors' inputs.

Presuming both the interface and monitors have TRS balanced 1/4" jacks my preference would be the TRS to TRS cable, but essentially no difference in using TRS to XLR other than possibly price.

It makes no difference.

Ok, I figured it didn't matter, since they're both balanced connector types, but I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything. Thanks!

I'm sure we've all asked that question at some point. I know I did.
