Literally. My guitar teacher was able to quit his day job and teach full-time as a result of those 4 guys from Liverpool.

I wanna hold your hand...Beatles.

I still like it (and play it).

The Beatles playing "All My Loving" on Ed Sullivan in 1964. Followed by "Till There Was You", "She Loves You", "I Saw Her Standing There" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand". That show changed my life.

I've been around music my entire life, from conception. My father was a musician, played many stringed instruments (guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, doghouse bass, steel guitar, lute) so I grew up with it. Always wanted to learn but didn't actually do it until I was 30...learned to play "The Unicorn Song" for my daughter so she would go to sleep. Nineteen years later and I'm still strumming chords like a madman.

Not sure about guitar but I do recall the moment I decided to take up mandolin. It was Mick Moloney playing "Loftus Jones" at the Daisy Theater in Memphis TN.

Southern Man by Neil Young. Just loved the beat of the song and wanted to be able to play that.

Combination of Van Halen and Guns n' Roses. I originally wanted drums, but my parents refused. Glad I picked guitar because I'm extremely uncoordinated.

There were three none of them 'songs', all were instrumentals - 'Walk, Don't Run' by The Ventures, 'Rebel Rouser' by Duane Eddy, and 'Apache' by the British group The Shadows.

The Ventures' Slaughter On Tenth Avenue was probably the first song that got me interested in playing guitar. Other songs by The Ventures subsequently added to my interest. I loved all of the different sounds that those guys could get out of a guitar. It seemed like magic to me.

I first played guitar way back in 1965.. I'm certain it was a Beatles tune that got me started...

These day's, every time I hear a James Taylor song, it inspires me to grab my guitar.
