Default Brain Therapy for Autistic Spectrum (TMS)

Wow, totally interesting segment on using stimulating the brain for autistic spectrum patients, totally scary,

H

Is this just ECT in the 21st Century?

But yeah, I think mainstream medicine is barking up the wrong tree on this one.

I don't know if the following is what the OP is referring to, but I suspect it is. Earlier today on a local TV station, I watched an interview with author and autism sufferer John Elder Robison who has written the book of his experience titled "Switched On". Here's a link to a video of the interview. All I can say is...remarkable. Anyone with an interest with Autism Spectrum disorders should watch this...

John lives in town and my wife's in the garden club with his (3rd) wife. He is an interesting guy. Check out some of his books. Look Me In The Eye is a particularly good one that explains his early years (http://www.amazon.com/Look-Me-Eye-Li.../dp/0307396185), including when he invented a lot of light & sound equipment for rock bands, among "other " stuff. It's a fascinating read about a fascinating life. He's brilliant.

John Elder Robison is exactly who I'm talking about. While under treatment, realizing the feelings and motives of people, and his perception at the time, differing.

It truly makes you realize how much our perception of reality is so fragile and subjective,

That treatment Robison underwent, would be considered far from main stream, it borders on the bizarre,

H

I agree, pharmacological solutions are rather dangerous, but when you are just talking about stimulating brain cells into making a persons perception change, that's truly scary
