Interesting info about the UMGF. I joined when I was searching for my very very old Martin. I got some good info on that forum (as well as here BTW) but I don't really linger there much now. The members I had interaction with seemed really nice and knowledgeable though.

I found the vast majority of the folks at UMGF to be great people as well, but this one mod, and I think anyone who hung at UMGF back when I did knows to who I am referring, was insufferable in his heavy handedness in deleting threads he didn't like for reasons that weren't at all obvious to the rest of us. I just couldn't take it anymore and sacrificed my membership there on the altar of telling him what I and many others there thought of him. I still lurk over there occasionally because I'm a Martin nut and you can learn a lot from those guys. I burned my bridges there but to folks I know who are just getting into guitars, I send them there to check it out, but I always put AGF at the top of the list for new guitar folks.
