Thanks everyone...I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it under finish, and hearing how it sounds. Joe, you can certainly see/hear it when it comes over. BTW, did you move?

Looks nice Hen and Jonathon. That is the kind of Koa I love, the stripey stuff. I prefer this to the flamey Koa.

Great! I'd love to take you up on that when it makes it to Hawaii. I did move, but only down the street. I'm on Kapiolani over by the BMW/MB/exotic car dealers.

First off I want to thank everyone for the kind words! This forum is filled with amazing builders, players, and guitar enthusiast and i'm glad I am able to share my work with ya'll.

I have been working like crazy trying to finish this guitar over the past couple of days, it didnt help that i got a severe cold that kept me in bed for days. When Hen approached me he related to me that he wanted a guitar that had a Matsuda-esque feel to it, and this is what came out of it. I wanted to also take this moment to publicly recognize the builders from which this guitar was inspired from. Michi Matsuda with his art deco style rosettes and appointments, Simon Fay and Ray Kraut for their own take own the arm rest Bevel. Each one is an amazing builder and have pioneered unique designs. Having said that i have also been working on a couple of "Razo" appointments and designs that i will be releasing here in the near future.

I cannot wait to have Hen check back in with his review after he has the guitar in his hands. All I am going to say is I haven't put the guitar down since i strung it up on Saturday!

Jonathan

I actually do my own finishes.

Long story short- I was a broke college kid that couldnt afford to send out my guitar to Joe White, or Tony Fergusson. So i did the next best thing, picked up a spray gun and started spraying away. Now i enjoy the finishing part, though in retrospec it probably would have saved me a lot of time and hassles had i just sent it to one of these guys.

What a stunning piece of functional art! Again, congratulations to both the builder and the new owner.

(Now, I have a big mess to clean up. Where's my drool rag?)

Beautiful guitar Jonathan, I really like the clean lines. Give us an update Hen when you get it!
