Fender Hwy.1 pickups?
Hi all,
First time over here from the acoustic side. Anyway, just picked up a Fender Highway 1 strat and thought to ask...Anyone else replace the stock PU's with the new Fender HOT noiseless, or any recommendations for a better sound? ...Doing Rock/pop type stuff. Thx |

The best thing you can do for your tone is to replace the stock tremelo block with a Callaham Block. The change is dramatic enough that I'd do it before thinking about other pickups.

So many people fiddle with their pickups without first addressing the most significant modern Strat drawback. Tele players can reap the same benefit by simply changing out the crappy stock bridge plate. Good luck and let us know how you like it! Doc |

Noiseless are great, I use them. But I can see why some wouldn't like them, because they are VERY "thick" in the tone. I'm not talking about freq here, but simple that they provide a very fat tone, which might not be the right way to go if you like twang.
