Each time I exert myself for the 5-10 seconds it takes to remove a guitar from its case, I get a little mini Christmas present.

I leave my guitars on stands all the time, have for years.
In the winter the humidity doesn't get below 30 for long.

Also, I have three dogs that have run of the place. One of my dogs is a 12 week old Beagle. I keep an eye on all of the. I haven't had a dog yet, to bother my guitars.

I know anything could happen, and I accept the risk.

I believe that every guitar player should have at least one guitar readily available at all times. Often I will think of a song or technique, or read about a suggested technique on the AGF, and will grab a guitar to try things out.

I leave them out on stands year round, four acoustics and two electrics. Once my 3 year old grandaughter knocked a 1937 Gibson archtop over, broke the scratchplate and knocked the bridge off (but no headstock break so it was ok). and it all came back together fairly easily.

Its worth it to me to have them out where I can see them all the time. I love the way they look. And guitars take knocks in their lives if you use them. They get knocked over, they get stolen, they get cracks, they need neck resets and so on. I want them to be out and actively part of my life. I play them much less when they are in their cases. And one of the best Martins I ever owned had belonged to a Canadian country music player, who had taken it in and out of bars in the bitter Canadian winter (deep finish cracks) put cigarettes up on the headstock between the strings (black burn holes in the finish) knocked it off a chair (headstock break) and had so much arm sweat on the upper base bout that the herringbone was actually separating and the finish was permanently stained. But it was a magnificent guitar. And for the most part (unless they are stolen) a guitar can always come back from abuse or an accident. I want them in my life where I can see them.

I keep most of my guitars out on racks and stands in two rooms (one upstairs, one downstairs). I have an equal chance of a case lid crashing on one of my guitars than I do having an accident while it's sitting on a rack or stand.

Right now my house is at 10-20% humidity at times, dry cold winter.
Electrics are hanging on Hercules hangers and Acoustics are in their cases with Sponge Humidifiers and Humidipacks.

I just ordered a Whole House Humidifier, should be installed by 1/30th.
My guitar loft does not have a heating vent, but it is a wide open loft to entire house.

After that, as long as Humidity in the loft is 35%-40%+ Acoustics will also be hanging on the wall.

All mine are out on stands dotted around the apartment.

Except this one, which I'm trying to keep absolutely pristine... this one stays in the Hiscox

One caveat is I love in NorCal, so do not have the humidity issues as you northeastern folks.

Always out, always humidified.
But, I have a guitar room and the door stays closed at all times.

I try to touch them, play them, tune ‘me all everyday. Hard to do that when they’re all in a case.

Don’t judge guys and gals

Very nice. My long-term goal is to have a "man cave"/music room of my own.

Personalised chair eh...
