Thanks Tom! yes I do love the Braz. Looks good enough to eat ha!

On that note, some may not know that Ben likes to name his guitars. Somewhere in the sanding phase he told me he had decided to name this on "Jupi-tar"...not really explaining all the reasons why. I had to assume it had something to do with sanding sapwood. This morning, I happened onto his facebook page and noticed a couple of pictures I had not seen. The first two relate to the idea of Jupi-tar (and yes we know the planet is Jupiter lol), but notice the reference here in the pics. Then the other one with the shavings I simply thought was cool...hadn't seen that one either, but I thought is was worth sharing:

First Jupiter and then Jupi-tar...certainly a family resemblance

Shavings are cool

Also, a note of congrats to Ben for being featured in the current issue of Guitar Aficionado Magazine.

Here's a shot of the layout:

Here's the latest. Ben has made some really significant progress over the last few days. In fact, he introduced his ideas on the joining of the neck to the body, as well as highlighting the Wilborn Loaf Technology ( W.L.T.)...which is how he makes the little squares or diamonds that show up in most of his builds. One of Ben's signature items is a small diamond on area around the soundhole. So, we used his W.L.T. idea to put some nice clean "under the radar" type touches at the 12th fret.

Here are a few of the pictures that tell the story of what I expect to be an amazing instrument. Below are shots of building the connection between male and female...Making sure the two stay in alignment. gotta love the precision

W.L.T. in action:

I like the three squares too- it was Mike's idea to do a variation on my usual 3 MOP dots at the 12th fret.

Ok, Ben has been SOOO great to keep me in more pictures than I could ever post. So, i selectively chose a couple just to give you a feel for this one with a little more color.

You may need a good set of shades for these...they made my eyes pop

I mentioned on fb that I thought that green in the BRW might go away with finish, but it did not and looks fabulous. I think this is probably my favorite piece of BRW that I have ever seen and that is really saying a lot and I do not say it lightly. GO JUPITAR!

Wow, what a great guitar. If you ever sell this one, call me before you offer it up to anyone else young man!!!!

Thank you! I agree...Ben is doing a great such a nice job of creating a guitar that doesn't need much of anything else.

"Young Man"?? Ha! You crack me up Tom. Between my ears is about the only place I have the "illusion" of being young .

Thanks for the kind words about the Braz. I too really really love the colors. With the additions Ben has made to the complimentary Koa binding and the spruce touches he's added in the purfling, I see this one as a long term keeper. That statement in and of itself would cause many who have known me to think I'm delusional about my own ability to feel "settled" with any guitar . That aside, this is one of several that I hope are with me for a very long time...2018 is a year of change for me!
