Default Blueridge headstock design concern.

First off let me say hello, this is my first post but I've been lurking around for months, I'm interesed in buying a blueridge 000, but have noticed in some of the pics online it looks like the 2nd and 5th strings rest against the 1st and 6th string posts, wouldn't this be a tuning issue? Does anyone know if this has been fixed? It might not create problems, but it sure seems like it would to me.

Thanks,

Kellly

Hi Kelly,
Welcome to the forum. BR peg heads are one of THEE smallest that I have ever seen. For this reason the strings do rub each other. However, I doubt it would cause any serious or long term issues.

Hey Kelly,

I own a few BR's (1 since 2004) I've never had any trouble with tuning issues due to the string rub. No rattles or string breakage either. I've read threads here of other builders that have small headstocks that have the same string rub. Not a problem for me anyway.

I own 2 Blueridges as well. No problems here either. Welcome to the forum, Kelly! In addition to this one, there is also a Blueridge forum where you can get lots of input on the guitars. Google Unofficial Blueridge Guitar Forum if you're interested.

I've never had an issue with it on my Blueridge. Have you ever looked at a Henderson, arguably one of the hottest item small luthier guitars around?

As much as I'm sure I'd enjoy playing a Henderson guitar, you gotta admit that's one silly-looking headstock! I guess there's only so many distinct, decent-looking headstocks you can put on a guitar. Yet every builder feels he needs an instantly recognizable shape on his instruments. Eventually it will all lead to things like this. Check out the head on this good-looking fella...

Good one Brent. It reminds me of many moons past when I was searching for "MY" unique headstock design. I built a few McKnight's with a peg head that closely resembled a DUCK's foot. I don't know what I was thinking? Same could be said about unique bridge designs as well.

By now Kelly is wondering what a funny red bird has to do with the Blueridge head stock design . Welcome to the party!

I think I know where Charles Schulz got his Woodstock design
