Guitar in the shower... Gotta be CF, right?
A friend came across this pic in a Zillow listing:
Without going into the personal taste or actual viability of a "shower guitar", can anyone positively identify this? Based on what I can see of the rosette and headstock logo, maybe an older Rainsong model? The cutaway doesn't look quite right, though, and I can't totally tell the headstock shape. And is that binding or just the lighting? Ideas? |

Dave at Rainsong said he kept one of their guitars in his shower. This doesn’t look like a Rainsong though.
I have heard of people taking wood guitars into a room with steam from the shower to help humidify a dried out guitar. I’ve never done this and don’t know how safe it is to do. |

Maybe the guitar was looking for clean tones…sorry, couldn’t resist.

I think this may be an Applause guitar. These were made by Ovation. Not all of them had the Ovation style headstock.

Maybe it needed some humidity
The year I brought my all solid voyage air to the Tucson Gem show, RH was in the teens. We were there selling for three weeks, and when not playing I kept it stashed under the sink in it's travel case. I had a planet waves RH monitor in the case, along with the planet waves sponge humidifier. The sponge would dry out in two days, but having the extra humidity from daily showers in the bath compared to 14% in our selling room, made a big difference.

Maybe they are using the shower just for a beautiful real room reverb.
