Tahoe Guitars 12-Fret Dread Palo Escrito/Adirondack
***Sold***
Up for sale is my Tahoe Guitars 12-fret dread in Palo Escrito Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce. The Adi top has some light bearclaw, the Palo Escrito beautiful figure, and some light figure in both the mahogany and the koa center lam in the neck. It is bound in EIR, with EIR for the back strip and heel cap. This guitar has a big, robust tone with a very wide dynamic range. It has huge head room, yet gives all the elements of its beautiful voice when played lightly. Palo Escrito is a true rosewood, and is the lightest weight among the many varieties. Compared to EIR, it is a bit less dark sounding, with better string separation, clarity and projection. It retains the characteristic glassy rosewood tonality. This guitar has wonderful overtones throughout its tonal spectrum. While it has a strong bass, the mids are are strong and the highs crisp. IMO Tahoe Guitars split the difference between the punch of Collings and the more lush character of SCGC. I don't think you'll find a better sounding guitar with these wood upgrades at this price point. I am the original owner of this guitar and was directly involved in the build. I have included pics of the final top bracing. I am parting with it because I have gravitated to small and mid body guitars. I just don't play this beauty much anymore. Condition Issue: A bit of flaking of the finish at the top of the back strip and the bottom of the heel cap (pictured). This is totally cosmetic. Here are two videos of the guitar: This is the day the guitar was born. The mic on this camera didn't do it justice and it has opened up substantially since then. The playing starts at 1:45 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7aZLXOrXFE Here's another from last year when I had it on consignment last year at Boutique Guitar. This one demonstrates some of the muscular character of this guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=2q8TBBBHiig You can view the Tahoe Guitars website here: www.tahoeguitar.com Price: ***SOLD*** Tahoe Guitar Co. 12-Fret Dread (Model E-12) Top: Adirondack Spruce w/ light bearclaw Back/Sides: Palo Escrito Rosewood Binding/Back strip/Heel cap: East Indian Rosewood Neck: Five Piece mahogany/maple/koa Bridge/Fretboard/Headplate: Ebony Bracing: Adi, scalloped, advanced Slothead with gold Gotoh tuners Rosette/12th-fret marker/Head inlays: Paua Abalone Saddle/Nut/Pins: Bone Frets: EVO Gold (longer wear than standard frets) Pickguard: Tor-Tis Firestripe OHSC Nut Width: 1 3/4" Saddle Spacing: 2 1/4" Scale: 25.4"
