botox? no, sorry, i don't. i did add another suggestion to my previous post. i'm all out of ideas for now. i do think there is a natural solution.

Interestingly the articles are referring to classical guitar with a wide, flat, fretboard, and thicker strings, less string tension. The only way you can curve your index finger and press down on all six strings on a flat fretboard is to roll your finger back. That is fine in some cases (though I never do that) but in other cases where you are reaching up higher on the fretboard with other fingers rolling back limits your reach.

Most often the problem string (the one the buzzes under a barre) is the third, followed by the second. Extending the finger a little more or less past the edge of the fretboard usually lessens that problem.

To lessen fatigue you can for example:

curve your index finger to distribute pressure more to where needed when other fingers are adding to the chord (good example being the infamous F chord).

lessen the pressure used to hold down the strings as the notes fade

double barre on certain chord shapes (Em chord shape for example)

I keep in touch with my teacher from 1989, he's a smart guy and great player, family of talent he has

is it his opinion that your issue with barres is purely physiological (i.e. you ain't got the fingers for it)?

going back 26 years when i first showed him he had no clue, but just today i used tape and it worked and thats a start for something new. I going to see my doctor in 2 weeks, ill ask him.
