Reverand Gary Davis
In the middle of transcribing 'Lord I'll Be With You Always' by Reverend Gary Davis. I think I'll be teaching this one at Swannanoa Gathering Guitar Week this year. There are some wonderful twists and turns in it that make this song absolutely delightful.

cool. I have heard of the guy....
I can't make the guitar week...too far etc. etc. I'd like to but....time ain't on my side... I wouldn't mind learning a tune though. Can you recommend one - intermediate. curious as to what program you use to transcribe - the one in the pic. I am looking to get started in this too. thanks.

thanks. I will check them out.
I play mostly fingerstyle. I only know a couple blues tunes. Mississippi blues, Blues in A. thats it for blues.. I'd like to learn more. I learned and forgot a couple Kottke tunes. Working on Angelina by T.E. Learned a pic version of Nuages. S. Grossman. Renbourn. Jerry Reed - Jiffy jam.... Whiter shade of Pale fingerstyle arrg. .etc. etc. I like it all. I play them but not like they do I just figured that was 'intermediate' - play but not well/perform/perfect.

Twelve Sticks is another great instrumental piece (played on 12-string, but it doesn't have to be): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hqML-b84EM

good stuff. first time i really listened to him play.
played with thumb and first finger. That running base on the 6 string where he plays with the thumb was cool. thanks JPR. and the song list too! I may look some of those up.
