My Rockbridge is here!
I had ordered a personal Rockbridge but had a miscommunication with Brian and Randall and got the wrong nut width. Hands never got used to the wider neck and I ended up selling it and re-ordering. The new one has slightly different specs...decided I liked natural top rather than the sunburst and went with maple binding this time around.
Slope D Quilted Sapele/Red Spruce Maple Binding 1 11/16" nut width Ivoroid Waverly tuners So without further ado, for anyone who cares, here's my dream/lifetime guitar: It's got the Rockbridge sound, but it's also quite distinct from any slope D's that I remember coming through. Absolutely love the bass and mid range, need to break in the treble a little more. Really strong separation for flatpicking/fingerstyle but enough blend that it'll do the job for rhythm as well. Based on first impressions, I'd bring my '52 D-28 to a jam if I expected to be playing chords and singing most of the night, the Rockbridge without question if I was picking lead. I'm one happy camper!

Very nice Andrew, that Sapele sure looks familiar to me, wonder why ?
LOL Your comment about taking the RB to the jam for lead and another for singing really interests me. I always found my RB slope D was the best guitar I had for vocal accompaniment, but I always thought it was a touch on the "soft" side for serious lead work. And you are finding it just the opposite. If I come back to the GP this year I gotta get a test drive. Even though I can't hardly play them skinny little necks.

I've seen/heard 4 Rockbridge guitars in person, and I liked them all. I noticed they still use a bolted dovetail neck joint. A few "experts" (who aren't sponsors) around here kept telling me bolted dovetails wouldn't work when they found out I used them on some builds.
Nice guitar Andrew

Oh--a RockBRIDGE!! (I thought you said a "RockLAND"--you'll have to do a "search" to read Allen "Pistolero" Shaad's thread on the fabled Paul RockLAND custom built "Blues Boxes," lined with crisp, new one-dollar bills! ) Allen knows a thing or two about guitars, having won hisself a custom Henderson dread (and everyone else's) for being a flatpickin' champ! Anyway...
So, in that case, congrats!! Looks like a fine git!

Oh I know about Rockland's - figured this was the next best thing. The Rockland wait list has gotten up to 27 years or so, and I just couldn't wait.
