Default Adding mute button to Expander Fishman SA330X

Hi guys. I have the Fishman SA330X I have a different sub, not the Fishman one, but I have the expander mixer that doesn’t have a mute button on it like the Main unit itself. I wanted to know how hard it would be to add a mute button on it with some electronics DIY. Is anyone that techie on here that could help?

Does it have an effects loop? I wonder if adding a mute button or tuner with mute function in the loop would do it?

That's what I do with my RedEye to use as a mute - tuner pedal in the effects loop.

Mmmm, that would be difficult.

The SAexpand unit connects the 4 channels, including power to the SA330x
via an 8 conductor CAT5 style cable. I suspect the controls are digital. And
there's no effects loop anywhere. I don't want to rip mine apart to find out.
:-) :-)

Simple, low tech version might be to get some small removable color dots.
Stick one on each channel to indicate where they're set then just turn the gains
all the way down to "mute". After break turn the gains back to the dot. Maybe
wine glass marking pens would work or a grease pencil. That won't mute the
two channels on the SA330x head though and if you're going to walk over there
you may as well push the real mute button!

I used to mark my Baggs Venue preamp setting with lead pencil so I quickly
return to the base setting to start with and then tweak from there. When the
baseline changed I'd erase and put a new mark. Kinda dumb, I know, but it
actually worked well.

Cool idea, though, adding a mute to the SAexpand unit..

Hope this helps, _Roger
