Default BWV 1003 Allegro Electric

I hope you don't mind me posting this here...
I wanted to try some Bach with a flat pick so I decided on this energetic allegro from the violin sonatas and partitas. I used a clean sound hoping to not stray too far from a Classical Guitar sound. I realize it is different but hope I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks,

Chris

You can post playing like that here any time. I loved it! Bach translates to just about any instrument, especially when played so beautifully. I thought you were pulling our legs about using a flat pick until you cut to the angle showing your right hand! Thanks for posting that. Wouldn't mind hearing more!

Chris, that was superb! You are some kind of player.
I recall years ago being derided for recording some classical tunes on my electric nylon. Nothing like what you can do, but I still thought the different take on traditional pieces was a refreshing thing to do.
I'm sure Bach would have LOVED this Allegro! Great job, and thanks for posting.

(Loved Scuttlebuttin' too btw! )

Sounds great. Good job. A single note series of notes such as in this piece will work on anything, even a banjo. Quite a bit of Bach's music written for violin, etc., translates well to an electric guitar, and other music not so much.

Yes, fully agree. Years ago, my classical guitar teacher recommended I get the sheet music to Bach's works for unaccompanied violin as a sight reading practice.
I still have the book (from Dover Publications, only cost $5.50 at the time ) and may just give it a go with my own strat just for yuks. It can be a good flatpicking exercise too as Chris showed.

Thanks Bob, glad you liked it. I have quite a few more Bach videos on youtube but they're all on Classical Guitar.

Thanks Andre. I wanted to push my picking mechanics so I thought Bach might be a good place to start. Lots of arpeggios and skipping strings are a great test.
Scuttlebuttin' is my favourite SRV tune. His syncopation is amazing.
