Resale will be better on the Taylor.
I'd rather own the Breedlove. YMMV, as always. Edit to add: rather own the Breedlove whether it was spruce or cedar topped. The model number will tell you though. Model number should be something like C25/CMe-12 etc. Whatever is the first letter after the / is the top wood. C=cedar, S=Spruce.

The Breedlove model number is C350 SRe 12. Probably over ten years old I would imagine.

Hmm, for the same outlay you can get an all-solid, rosewood and Englemann spruce, ebony bridge and fingerboard, maple bound Yamaha LL16-12 A.R.E. That would be my 'no-brainer' choice. Comes with a passive UST and a good semi-rigid case. Here:

Well I tested out the Breedlove Atlas Studio 12 and the Taylor 150e at Sam Ash today and I prefer the Taylor. It's easier to play sounds better and looks nice with the walnut b/s. However, I'm still curious about the Yamaha LL16 12 string that you mentioned. It certainly sounds good on the youtube, KRAFT music review.

Quote:
350 is weird, ought to be 250. 2 = deep body (standard), 5 = cutaway, 0 = Korean import (at least for that time frame) SRe = Sitka Spruce top, Rosewood, electric. 12 = 12 of course. The walnut on the new Taylors does look very nice, and with the new ebony headstock you would not have any CITES issues if you ever took it out of the country.

Help me to decide on two 12 string guitars.
It really does depend on whether you prefer the dread sized Taylor or the grand concert sized Breedlove. I play a Korean made Breedlove Studio 12 (spruce/sapele) and prefer the smaller body size. The Taylor may have more bass. The Breedlove may have longer sustain. My wife describes the sound of my Breedlove as a "waterfall," and Breedlove advertises the Solo and Studio 12s as "finger style" instruments.
A guy in my guitar group plays a Taylor 150 12-string and side by side I'd say the Taylor has more depth to the sound and the Breedlove more lightness. My Breedlove gets mighty loud when strummed and can give a wall of sound but it doesn't have that earth-shaking quality a strummed dread-bodied 12 can have. I love my Breedlove because it matches what I want my 12 to do, but you have to know what you want. I'd match the instrument size and sound to your preference. I don't think you can go wrong.
