WOW. I'm blown away you were able to bend The Tree like that. Would Koa be as difficult? Less? I hear Koa is another that's easy to break while bending into cutaways and such.

I was completely shocked as well!!! I had thought, "well, I'll give it a shot and when (not if) it breaks I'll make a scroll out of a scrap chunk of the Tree..."

I spent an entire day saying to myself "yoodaman, yoodaman!"

Nothing is as tricky as the Tree. The only thing I've used that was close was Manchinga... but koa can be tricky as well.

I had a local player in the shop the other day, he played the "loaner" that Mau had and said, "Hey this this nice..." then he played this one and said "OOOOHHH... this is INTERESTING!!!" then he suggested that I not get too attached to it... he plays classical chamber music and has a Loar era A model so he knows a few things about mandolins. I may have a chance to show it to both Sam Bush and Ronnie McCroury if I don't sell it first. I hear they both can play a little...

...one would need recording equipment for that... interestingly enough... the local guy has a recording studio. He's also the local repair guru and the guy who got Lance McCollum started. Now getting a video of Sam Bush might sell a few
