Tom Rush Web Cast Tonight
For those of us who can't be in Boston or get a ticket to a sold-out Symphony Hall, there is a link to a live stream of Tom's 50th aniversary concert on Tom's web site:
http://www.tomrush.com/ I'm certianly anxious to watch seeing as Tom's music was such a big influence on my wanting to play guitar the first time I took it up well... almost 50 yrs ago. It says that the webcast will start around 7:30 Eastern time. Ray

Tom Rush had a large influence on me early on. Two of my favorites to play are "Urge for Going" ( the song, not the other thing) and "No Regrets" Those songs are over forty years old and still sound good.

I saw him for the first time last year in DC, have his 'No Regrets' CD in the deck now. THanks for posting, I'll be listening in for certain!

"No Regrets" I play standard tuning capo'd at the fourth fret in D. Sound pretty good on my Om, nice clear ring to it. Ill try drop D with that, thanks.

Well the feed seems to be working. Hearing the crowd filing in I guess. They say music starts at 8:00. Really looking forward to this evening

Rad3, thanks for the reminder!
I've been a fan since his first album came out. Just saw him in concert for the first time last year and caught him again this year. Two awesome shows!

They're in break right now. Great show! I was there for the first couple or three of his Club 47 reunion shows. They were fantastic. If this one follows suit, don't be shocked if some unlisted guests show up as the night progresses.
Technology can be great sometimes. We recently got a nice high-speed broadband connection and I'm able to stream the internet feed through my home theater system with excellent speakers and a 55" flat screen TV in high def. This is the first time I've tried doing something like that based on the internet and, to my surprise, it's working great. The sound quality of the feed is excellent (Symphony Hall has fantastic acoustics and they're using a great sound system). They'll be starting up again in about 10 minutes from now. Better get back to the TV.

My Late [Great] Brother Bern turned me on to Tom Rush a long time ago... lte 60's / early 70's, I guess. Tom's put-together-version he called "The Panama Limited" was the first time I heard a slide used to imitate train sounds -- which goes quite a ways back, I know, to many earlier artists work. Great stuff - wonderful memories.
