Loar 300 - want to add p90ish pickup
I got a loar 300 on a great deal, and it turned out to be a great guitar. However, as with all things, a p90 would make it better. What are my options? Surface mount? Floating? Cut a p90 size hole in the soundboard ? (Just kidding. I'm not insane).
Ideally, i would like a pickup that can sound natural (doesn't have to be all that natural. Just sounding cool in some way) and still can be overdriven when the devil takes hold. Appreciate yall Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk |

I'd say Duncan's Acoustic Tube is worth a try. That pickup immediately came to mind when I read your OP.

If you interrupt the surface of the top with a pickup, IMO it will have a negative effect on the acoustic properties of the guitar. Put a floater on there and you will have something!

Kent Armstrong floating pickup. If you can find an old DeArmond Rhythm Chief that would be even better.

Another vote for a Kent Armstrong. I put one of his HP-90's in the neck position of a telecaster and the results were glorious.
