Still loving that Paduak, and that guitar. Really nice work and all those extra strings too.

Thanks John.
And my word yes, all those strings and all those tuners, and pins. Good grief.😅

Default WOW

I'll even say it backwards!!! WOW!

How many banks do I need to rob? THAT is one beautiful guitar!!!! I may need to seriously consider building a guitar for myself. Obviously there is additional bracing required for the extra six strings, how much, and how is the neck re-inforcement compared to a "normal" guitar?

Thanks! I appreciate your enthusiasm for sure.
The bracing pattern is the same as a six string, in my case a double x, but the braces are a little beefier.

I'm not certain how much more tension there is, some I'm sure, but some of those strings are thinner than you'd find on a six string. For example the largest bass e string is only .042 inches so there is less tension on it to tune up to E2 than on a beefier six string guitar.

The neck is a little wider but same thickness as my six string guitars. .850 inches at he nut. It's made of padouk which adds some strength over most mahogany necks, and it has carbon fiber rods and a truss rod.

My prices user not THAT high. I think only one uptown bank should net you enough for a build with some cash left over for a few upgrades, and maybe an Ameritage case.

That really is one very special looking guitar...and I presume it sounds just as wonderful as well. Great build thread.

Seems reasonable....a tad risky perhaps but worth the effort for this beauty.

The trouble with you Kinnaird fellows is which one of you sucks you in first and grabs your soul and won't let go...I feel like there is a battle in my head, sort of the East coast, West coast thing, but East vs. Middle.....

Beautiful ending for this build....Bob deserves a nice reward like this right now! Well done.

Thank you very much guys for the kind words.
Tom, I hope you can resolve your conflict. Maybe a little counseling by an eastern luthier would help

Merry Christmas back to you! I think this guitar is headed for Mr. Singer if I am not mistaken which I could very well be.
