Default Sunrise with Fishman Loudbox Artist

Hi,
I'm looking for some suggestions for those familiar with Sunrise S1 (or S2).

I have one in a Martin D18 and was planning to plug it straight into a Fishman Loudbox Artist? Does anyone have any thoughts on that combo? It does sound nice, would a special DI drastically improve the tone?

Thank you!

It is my understanding that the Fishman Loudbox is intended for acoustic guitar pickups connected directly, but I have had differing results with different pickups. I finally settled on one single solution for DI, regardless of guitar or pickup combination I use. I use a Line 6 digital wireless system for every guitar and have used just about every model they ever made. Currently my favorite is to use a G75 system, because it has an independent preamp gain control built in so I can easily compensate for the differences between active and passive pickup output amplitudes. I use one signal chain for everything so this solution works well for me... My two cents.

Yes, I would be plugging the guitar directly into the Fishman. It's my understanding that the Loudbox functions as a DI and Amp.

Does anyone have any experience with plugging in a guitar with a Sunrise pickup into a Fishman amp?

Thanks

There's no point in using a DI if you're plugging into an amp, but a good preamp is definitely the friend of the Sunrise. The Sunrise SB1 is excellent, as is the Fire Eye Red Eye. I've heard good reports from folks using tube preamps, too.
