The young Paul Simon was crackling with creativity. That period is a time capsule.

Nicely done Sal!
One of my all time favorite Paul Simon songs, and the one that got me started with wanting to learn fingerstyle guitar. (Boy did I ever scratch up that Columbia LP record...)
Great job, and also very cool video effect.

Ahh gents.. thank you for listening. Very very kind. I think Paul Simon needs to teach me how to fingerstyle. This will be my winter rabbit hole and New Years resolution!

I think you've got the outlines of the song down well.

Like some others above, I've always liked that song. I think it's sort of Paul Simon's "version" of Dylan's "Girl from the North Country." Similar subject matter and even (to my bad ear) some melodic contours. Appropriately, Dylan's "Girl from the North Country" was his version of Martin Carthy's arrangement of "Scarborough Fair." And both songs were written by Yanks in the UK and of course "Scarborough Fair" got used again by Simon to some effect.

Do not read the above a knock on Simon, or Dylan. I hold with the Folk Process, though I can feel bad for Martin Carthy and like Dylan (and Simon?) I'm always be glad to talk Martin's playing up to those who don't know.

Among my top 3 or 4 P.S. songs. I like your take on it, Sal. Way to go.

Well done, Sal!

I thought the picking was great, and enjoyed how you played around a bit on the vocal timing. Very nice interpretation. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,

-Dave
