Drum Loops Recommendations
Hi, Looking for recommendations on downloadable (or from CD) Drum Loops. Looking for good sounding WAV files which I can Import into my Sonar program. Either free or for purchase is OK. I looked for free ones, didn't come up with much. Appreciate the help. TIA

I think "drums on demand" are worth taking a look at. They have a variety of styles in a variety or formats. There is also "big fish audio". I'm going to try out their shaker/tambourine pack in a couple of days. I also use Sonar.

I've been using EZdrummer. It can be stand alone and will create wav files, or you can connect it to a DAW which is what I do with Reaper.

EZdrummer sounds good and gives you some additional control. You can buy the package and then there are add on packs with additional canned patterns.
Modifying and adding to the canned patterns is possible, even with a MIDI keyboard or a MIDI keyboard with pads--but you don't have to play "finger drums"--you can just use the patterns. The only drum loop package I ever bought was Siggi Baldursson's Drum Sugar, and I bought that only because I love his playing so much.

Superior Drummer 3 has the best sounds, in my opinion. There are are plenty of loops (MIDI files) and various drums you can assemble together in countless ways.

+1 for Drums on Demand. High quality recording and lots of options. Bonus -- they run 50% off sales pretty regularly...
