I think I'm decided, but convince me.

X5-OS or X7-OS
Unfortunately in New York, I have only gotten to play one CF guitar, and never an Emerald.
Years ago, I would never have dreamed of buying a guitar, OF ALL THINGS, without playing it! But we are living in different times. You can get excellent information on forums like this and can hear good demos. With the feedback I’ve gotten, and based on the specs on paper, I have decided to go with the X7-OS. It has a body that is only 1 inch longer, 1 inch deeper, and 1.5 inches wider at the lower bout, and is only $100 more than the X5. So they appear to be very similar but the X7-OS seems to get the big nod on sound. So Ed, tell us your decision! Mike |

Then for-sure an X7-OS (though medium gauge strings turn the Cargo into a different and stronger player, and are not factory stock). Jon

An auto accident may have rendered the decision moot. <frown>
I appreciate the input(s). Ed |

i'm terribly sorry to read about your accident.
if you think later again about the guitar, you have 3 emerald choices: - the X5-OS, that is the smallest by far. really tiny. i highly recommend it if you want an ultra-portable guitar - the X7-OS, the loudest and most responsive. compact and light, but not as portable. it is the common choice for everybody. more contemporary sounding - the T8, the most traditionally looking and sounding of them. not as loud as the X7-OS, but with a beautiful sound. it has a truss-rod by default too. best option if you want it only for strumming. a little bit more heavy than the X7-OS too i own the X7-OS and i have played all the Emerald models a lot and i really love them all. if i had to choose today, it would be really hard for me to choose only one!
