Default Rainsong Bridge Pins

Have one of the new 12 Fret WS models on order from LA Guitars (my first CF). Anyway, I hate Tusq and want to upgrade the bridge pins and saddle to bone - any advice? Is Colosi the way to go? Thanks, Steve

No question Bob is the best, he did new bone pins for my 1967 j-45 and they were perfect. I have a couple of carbons never really thought about anything but tusq. let us know if you like it.

Does anyone know that the dimensions are on the Rainsong bridge pins?

I called Bob, and he did not have any data on RS saddles or bridge pins. He offered to create them it I were to send him some samples, but I did not want to put my RS out of commission for a week. Now that I have a spare Tusq saddle, I may send it to him so that he can make me a West African Hard Ivory saddle. This will also give him the specs to offer them as a standard product.

I just had my tech install a bone saddle that I got from MacNichols, but the ebony bridge pins the sold me were way too big. If anyone has a spare set of RS Tusq bridge pins, perhaps they can send them to Bob, so that we can all benefit from him having the specs on hand. :-)

I've "upgraded" my RainSong to Abalone pins to match the rosette and am sure the "Presentation" size is correct. Maybe this diagram will help you be certain too.

Please contact us and we can either pay for the return shipping and file the bridge pins to fit a RainSong, or provide a full refund. Thank You.

If you're wondering about the cosmetics of replacing the black tusq with white bone, here are a few threads you'll find interesting. I'm considering doing the same thing, so I found these the other day in my own searching. I'm thinking of going all black (saddle, nut, pins) or all white.

I think there's a good lesson here. It's best to give the seller/dealer the opportunity to make things right as a first step....
