I am interested in these Rainsong Shortys, but have no dealer anywher near me. I have been concerned about the sound on this and some other videos. For comparison I searched for videos of the Taylor 12-fret guitars, which are very close in size and dimensions. Compared to Kramster's Shorty video, the Taylor guitars sounded very bad in the other vids, and the Shorty sounded much beter.

So I think as many of us know, you cannot really judge a guitar from an online video. The recording techniques would need to be identical for comparing guitars.

Kramster's video is indeed very helpful. Given the brighter tone that these guitars generate, I'd say they'd probably have more appeal to Taylor fans out there.

HaHa...funny, I saw the thread topic and started watching the video and I am thinking 'this doesnt sound anything like the Rain song' It finally dawned on me at about minute 4 that it was the name of the guitar

I was wondering why it wasnt in the Show and Tell section.

Kramster,

These videos were fantastic! I just love how you weave scenery into it. Well done! Thanks so much for dropping it down one full step, as I did not get a chance to come back and they that. I believe it has light strings on it, so I bet with heavier gauge strings that it would sound even better dropped down.

Nice job!!

Thanks again...there does seem to be some agreement on the Macnichols forum that dropping down a step on a CF guitar mellows her quite a bit.

Default Changed my mind on rainsongs.

Wow, what a nice sounding guitar,it`s sustain and clearity are remarkable. I never herd this brand`s sound before because I can`t see myself with a non wood insterment. That being said I was very impressed with what I herd. Now with a open mind, I can see why there is a place for them. With manufactors looking for alternative ways to substatute ever depleated wood sources I see a market for them. Also where humidity is a issue , a solid platform such as this would make a compelling choice.
