Great video! The RainSong Shorty has me rethinking my decision to get an OX. Both guitars look and sound fantastic. I guess I'll have to go with "all of the above".

Great video Kramster. And folks, take note of the sustain. I forgot to mention this in my review. The sustain is crazy good! And also note, it's a short scale and is super comfortable. What I do not like about the Cargos is that the fretboard gives you no room as you get closer to the sound hole.
And in rethinking this, I do believe that this guitar will be a great travel guitar with a good soft gig case. This guitar deserves to be in any aficionados collection!!

Great video demo.
Thanks. Does that guitar have 80/20 Elixirs on it?

I have come across with a fair number of interest for a fitting gig bag for the Shorty (including myself).
What do you think Ashvin?

Thanks kids.
Me thinks the Shorty is a bit easier playing than the OX but a tuff choice for some no doubt. I would pick the Shorty. Emerald X-30 is big and heavy but sounds warm and full (guess I should do a video on it) A 7 string will be super! Not sure which strings are on this.

It's interesting, and it's not bad, but it doesn't sound, to my ears, like a good solid wood guitar. However, I can see where its utility could offset the tone.

I was saying to myself, funny how I was exactly like that before. I must say the videos really don't do them justice, or perhaps may be these guitars really don't record well. I think one has to play it to really believe it. I was more amazed when I played mine the first time than hearing them on the videos. Maybe these two video is a little better, one on the Shorty and the other on the same model I got. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpybIoZXQYs http://www.youtube.com/user/MacNicho...06/EM3ATsNhsUc Some may say they don’t sound like wood (they are not supposed to anyways). But still, I seriously reckon that if I get some blind folded and play a few samples with a mixture of different guitars, I can be wrong, but I’d bet you can’t tell the difference. Based on Lisa’s review of the Shorty here, http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...light=rainsong it was really interesting to hear that from her especially for someone who also owns high end wood guitars. The sustain coming out of my Rainsong is amazing. Videos don't really capture this tonal property. My Rainsong shines when capo-ed and especially in drop down tunings. It is becoming my main axe now. This is also largely due to the fact that it sits right next to the couch 24/7 365 days throughout all four seasons. I don’t even dare to leave my other guitars out overnight as I have to constantly monitor the humidity inside my house. And also it grabs attention when guests drop by. Other than changing strings and batteries for the pickup, pretty much stress free for me to look after it.
