P-90 fans here?
Do we have any P-90 fans here? Do you own any guitars with them? Show and tell.

I don't, but have been considering a mix and match, with a humbucker in the bridge and a P-90 in the neck. Hate the hum, so may have to find a noiseless, and since this would be a retrofit, it would have to fit in a humbucker route. Uh...maybe I should forget it...

I am and here are a couple. I have also had others , Ernie Ball and others that I no longer own. The Hamer Newport has Phat Cats and the G&L has a Paul Gagon P 90 in the neck. -- Darwin

I love good P90's - don't currently own a guitar with them per se, but I have a Fender Jaguar with JG90 pickups by Pete Biltoft of Vintage Vibe Guitars. They're P90 construction in a Jaguar footprint. They added some cojones to the tone for sure!

Hell yeah! One of my favourite has two of the Golden Age p-90's and they are raunchy and dirty just the way I like them
 The hum for me is only annoying between songs or quiet spots. I don't really hear it while playing so I guess a volume pedal, noise gate, or just turning your volume down is good enough.

Definitely. However, the issues are very real. I lived in a victorian house with knob and tube wiring. I could literally pick up radio signals.

Buddy of mine had a late-50s Gibson ES-125, no cutaway with a single p-90 which, to my ear, had just the most beautiful crusty, rich, subtle, words-fail-me electric guitar tone. He changes guitars like underwear so of course he sold it.

I owned this for a long while a few years ago, a '55 series Les Paul. Awesome tone, very versatile, and the neck pickup was particularly sweet. No hum to speak of, but I live in a fairly new building.
 I wish I still had it.

I've got one of the 2012 Gibson Les Paul Studio ’60s Tribute guitars. I wanted the growly sound of the P-90s to offset my humbucker guitars. Gibson really knocked one out of the park with this one. Great sound, great fret work, great playability, and a low price for those who want it as a secondary guitar.
