Emerald X20 special edition
Hi,
After a good deal of to-and-fro with Alistair at Emerald Guitars, we finally decided on a design:
Almost six months later, I received my Emerald special edition. And I think you'll agree, it's a stunner. As you know, the body of the X20 is a little smaller than a Dreadnought - but it feels perfect. And unless one places the X20 side by side with a Dreadnought, you can't really tell that it is smaller. But there's no compromise with the sound. Big, bold and authoritative, with tinkling highs. The fan fret provides perfect intonation up the neck, too. I play bluegrass - and would have no hesitation using this guitar in gigs. All in all, I couldn't be happier with what I consider a masterpiece of the Luthier's art. Thanks Alistair. That is GORGEOUS!
It was a photo of a cocobolo veneer woody that pushed me off the fence and forced me to contact Sean at Emerald. Timing was such that I couldn't wait, and they had an X7 OS with a pickup ready to ship... love my X7, but I have not forgotten that cocobolo. Ah, be still my heart. Congratulations on that absolutely beautiful guitar! |

Such elegant lines, and don't even get me started about the wood CF combo.
Who said they could never coexist? That must be one of the most gorgeous guitars I've ever seen.

How thick is the veneer? It must be fairly slim to not impede the vibration of the top.
