Default NJD (New Job Day)!

I was offered a new job with another company this week and I took them up on their offer. My current place of employment doesn't seem too excited about it but they could have kept me if they wanted to.

The plusses-- better benefits, more money, one focused responsibility (instead of being responsible for everything and answering to everyone like I do now) plus they said they'd be flexible with my summer gigging schedule.

The negatives--a little longer commute, uncertainty about something new, learning new systems, software, procedures, personalities, etc.

I'm coming up on a milestone birthday (50) and I'm taking this opportunity to make positive changes in my life (health, career, family, etc.) which I'm looking forward to.

Congratulations!

The way we grow is by experiencing new things. Sometimes leaving one's "comfort zone" opens the door to a whole new world.

Life is too short to keep negative things and people in your life.

Good luck. With one exception I've found job changes to be life improvements.

Congrats Chris and good luck! Use the extra commute time to catch up on listening to some tunes.

congrats - I hope it turns out even better than you think it will.
It takes some courage to make a change like that at 50.
I applaud you!
