When I get groceries this week, I'll probably pick up some K-cups and compare them to ground.

One puts in a couple scoops of ground beans into hot water and stir it up getting "Cowboy Coffee" then one takes a plunger looking thingy and shove it down the container putting the grounds on the bottom--------it's called a French Press, this is really good coffee!

I've had the same Keurig for 13 years now with daily use from both me and my wife; never had a problem with it at all.

I have to agree. It seemed a ludicrous price to pay for a coffee maker - but for the best cup of coffee I've ever made in my house, it's worth every penny.

Ouch! It’s 2017, times have changed! But I understand if you were to avoid herbal...and you can get extra manpoints for using two teabags at a time.

I won’t tell...

I've had cheap coffee makers (as little as $7 on sale) and fairly expensive ($100+ Bunns). I've had drip and percs. I've ignored cleaning some of them and scrupulously followed cleaning instructions on others. Regardless, the longest I've had a coffee maker last was 5 years. Sometimes the ones I cleaned didn't last as long as the ones I did not clean. I decided no sense in spending $100 on a coffee maker that will last 5 years ($20/yr) when I can get a little 4 cup Mr. Coffee on sale for $12 ($2.40/yr). My most recent maker, a Walmart store brand on sale for $7 ($1.40/yr). Ultimately they get recycled/tossed. I don't feel as bad tossing a $7 maker.

Any love for the venerable Gaggia Classic out here? Mine's 14 years old and still going strong. Yep, costs a lot more than a Black and Decker, but those don't make very good espresso!

You'd get a big bump up in manpoints by proudly displaying your self-confidence in your masculinity

Oops, is it really 2018? Time flies when you are playing your guitar!

I used a French press for years then Bruce Sexauer put me onto the Aeropress, already mentioned by another poster. It changed my life. Bruce, thank you again!
