You want to use the "Share" feature of your photo host site and choose direct link to copy it. Then in the advance editor select the "Mountain" icon and paste the link in. Or you can just paste it in to the edior and wrap it with

[ img ] picture link goes here [/ img ]

but without the spaces

I see these threads fairly frequently, so just a PSA that you don't have to actually post a new thread to test these kinds of things. Just start composing a thread (or a reply) and instead of clicking "Submit New Thread" or "Submit Reply," click "Preview Post." That preview will be exactly the same thing that people would see had you actually submitted the thread/reply.

If the preview is not what you were expecting, just scroll below it, make changes to your post, and then click "Preview Post" again, etc. Once you've solved the issue, then simply navigate away from the page without submitting the thread/reply.

Spider, here is your last attempt. You have included an unneeded [ at the beginning and unneeded ] at the end, plus because it’s a photo file (.jpg) you’re trying to post, you need to use “img” rather than “url”. So that you can see the entirety of what you typed and not just showing a bad link, I had to add an extra ] at the end. If that extra ] is removed, it’ll show just as a bad link .

Now, here’s what it looks like when I adjusted it to produce the image in my post above. Again, to avoid showing the actual pic again so you can see the format, I deleted the ] at the end. If that ] is added, the pic will show.

Hope this helps!

Yes Barry, you did and pretty simply and clearly. That said, as the OP said, his computer skills are pretty rudimentary, so it may be more difficult for some than we realize.
