Thank you Pura Vida!

Very nice of you to comment! I agree, Stills has written some very good music and he was quite an inspiration on the acoustic guitar. I think he really was very original in a lot of the things he came up with.

Thanks so much for listening and commenting here!

Hi Larry,

Thank you! I'm so glad you commented here.

Yes, it's a dark song. I have never learned to play it before because it's so dark. But several folks have asked me to cover it, and the good thing is, I learned some things in the process. The other good thing is that people can climb out of dark places in life if they give themselves time to adapt.

I'm glad you thought this came out okay, Larry! Thanks so much for listening!

Hey Mrbirdog!

Thank you for commenting! How fascinating that your family and Stephen Stills' family had connections.

I will put the Jeremiah Johnson theme song on my song list for the future. I am back on the schedule to have that right hip surgery in another week, so I might not get to it for a while since it takes about 6-7 weeks to recover enough after that hip surgery to hold a guitar on my lap. But I will get there eventually, I promise!

Thanks so much for listening and commenting!!!

Hi Sal!

Oh, I'm glad I picked one of your favorites! This does seem to fit in with the kind of music you often play. How very cool!

Thanks so much for listening and commenting! I'm glad you felt I did this song justice!

Solid stuff, Glenn!

I would love to see you play Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd... Would that be an option in the near future?

Thanks for commenting Rick!

Regarding "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, I will have to look that up to refresh my memory. I will look into it.

- Glenn

PS: Hi Rick -- I do remember that song. I'm pretty sure I can do a reasonable version of that song. Let me put it on my list. It might be a while because I am heading back to hip surgery for my other hip in a week. So I will be out of commission for a while after that. Hope you are well! - Glenn

I love that song. I don’t hear it played often. It makes me nostalgic and you play it beautifully.

Glenn,
That was really nice. Thanks for bringing this song back into our consciousness. There are so many great songs like that from that time period. It's nice to hear them again, especially having grown up with those tunes.
Stills was/is a true acoustic craftsman and innovator.
When you accompany yourself with that D-35, it adds that right kind of tone and feel to it.
Enjoyed it, and thanks again for sharing!

Hi Andre!

Thank you so much! And I agree with you -- the old D-35 seemed to sound just right for this song. The guitar maybe has a little more treble compared to the D-28 that Stills used in his original recording, but it's pretty close.

And I had fun working this song out; it really was an adventure for me in kind of going back in time.

Thanks for your comments Andre!

- Glenn

Hi, Glenn, wishing you a quick recovery again. I just wanted to share my duo partner’s “happy” rewrite of the third verse. Whenever he sings this song the audiences love it, and he makes it work every time.
Larry

E7 E6 A9 E
VERSE 3 Morning comes the sunrise and I’m driven from my bed
E7 E6 A9 E
I realize I can choose to be glad instead
G A Em
I embrace all that I am grateful for
G A Em
I feel the sun on my face and I’m filled with love once more
G A Em INTRO E Riff
And I know now I can live my life once more
