What's with the multitude of goals being scored so far this season? Is it related to the new hacking rule?

Whew!

Penguins back to being the Penguins with a 4-0 win over the Preds last night (third straight shutout by Matt Murray over Nashville dating back to game 5 of last year's SCF). Sid with a couple of assists. After that 10-1 debacle in Chicago on Thursday I was worried.

BTW- How about Alex Ovechkin!!!!!!!! 7 goals in the first two games!! First player since 1967 to record two consecutive hat tricks in the first two games of the season. I think he's on a mission. He wants that Cup.

I was at the Capitols' home opener last night. 2 goals in the first 45 seconds of the game and the place was rocking. Price looked shaky.

Cat (^), Ovechkin was putting them in last night.

I, too am boycotting the NFL. Still gotta pull for my Capitals. I guess I am just a glutton for punishment.

Hey Dru the Pens play the Caps on Wednesday in DC. You going? Should be a humdinger of a game!

Hey Cat, It's a 3 hour drive to Pittsburgh from here so I won't be seeing any games during the week. Week-end perhaps. I'm looking forward to when the Oilers and McDavid make it to Philly in a couple of weeks.

The game's in DC so I thought you might decide to do it mid-week.

If you do go to the game in Philly do yourself a favor and wear some orange, or be prepared for a "Philly welcome".

Pens lose 5-4 to the Lightning. Crosby had no points. At least they beat the Capitals.

Crosby saved the game for the Pens last night by tying the game with a minute left.

How about Montreal? The past few years they opened the season on a tear, but not this year.

I told my wife as we watched that Sid would tie the game last night. Earlier in the game he had taken a bad double minor for high sticking, and the Rangers converted on both penalties to take the lead while Sid sat steaming in the box. I think he felt personally responsible for the Pens being behind in the game. After that it was obvious that his motivational level was off the charts. His goal was brilliant!

Wuzzup with Montreal? I haven't been following them.

Last place in Atlantic and sucking. Just 1-4-1. Playing later tonight in LA. I haven’t watched their games enough to know what’s wrong and how Price may or may not be factoring into the slow start.

Montreal lost last night 5-1 so add another loss to that record. Looks like Price had the night off (Montoya played).
