Would you like an AGF Secret Santa for Charter members?

Would it be permissible by forum rules to host a Secret Santa? If so I'm curious if this is this something you'd want to participate in?

Paying respecting that we have people in AGF with variable levels of disposable income, I would suggest a few categories: $20 gift, $50 gift or $100+ gift. Whoever coordinates would pair those playing by like categories. We could have a Secret Santa Thank You thread where everyone reveals their gifts and says thank you to sender.

If this sounds like a good idea and none of he moderators want to hassle with it, I would offer to coordinate and disqualify myself from participation just to be able to see what everyone ends up with

I think it’s a very thoughtful gesture, but I’m not sure if I’d be in or not.

My recommendation would be to seek Forum permission first, not second. Our rules (see FAQ) say, Do not start fundraisers on the forum, and this might be close enough to at least ask.

The post was asking if it was permissible, suggesting how it might work if people were interested and providing a poll all at the same time... From the vote tally it's pretty clear that even if moderators were ok with it, it's not something anyone here really wants.

I got the idea from a forum my wife is a member of (won't mention the name). It's similar to AGF in that it's a large group of people from all over the world who participate and a select group of those members decided to do a Secret Santa. It was a very popular idea there.
