Carbon truss rod cover
I bought myself a Taylor 114e recently and made a carbon fibre truss rod cover to replace the bog standard plastic one.... I think it looks pretty sweet!

Nice job... be careful.. carbon has a way of migrating and before you know it you will only play CF guitars... ;-)

Looks sharp!
(Someone has to say it) So, did you notice an enhancement to the tone? JK, my first Taylor was a 114ce - nice guitar! |

I'm thinking you may be right, I've already started on a new pickguard... But to be honest I'm a bit scared of removing the existing one.

"You will be assimilated". Adding CF parts to your 114 reminded me instantly of the growing progression of implants appearing on a newly assimilated Borg drone.......
Removing a pick guard is no big deal, Jegero. A little heat from a hair dryer, peel slowly starting from a corner, and use naptha to clean up any glue residue. If some areas are really stubborn then a little dental floss will help. Very nice work on the truss rod cover, BTW. Last edited by Earl49; 11-14-2017 at 06:36 PM. |
