Default What kind of input jack is this? . . .

What kind of input jack is this? The black box jack.

I own an Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500rcce which runs in stereo using 2 jacks.
This black box looking jack broke. I need a replacement.
Are there other options (preferrably all metal construction) which can be used as a replacement?
Thanx

Some of the Glade Lifestyles are pretty nice smelly things and might work for you. What's yer relative humidity on an average day?

Maybe a stereo jack to allow 2 separate pickup outputs?

Check Guitar Fetish, I think I've seen them there before.

It's a stereo jack with additional lugs to handle things like battery switching or piezo/magnetic combinations. I have found them to be pretty unreliable, and I replace them with a standard Switchcraft stereo jack if I can.

If there are only three wires connected to it, you should be able to use a regular stereo jack. The inner ring will always be ground. One of the wires is likely to switch the battery on when it's plugged in...that would go to the middle lug, and the other the positive pickup lead.

I was afraid something like that would happen, but its the only pic I could find quickly ‘til I could take some pics of my actual gear.

Thanx Stormin’. I’ll take a look and post actual pics when I get a chance.

So here are pics of my jack.
It has 9 lugs total (1 on top side - ground?) but not all are used.
The cable is 3 conductor “shielded” headphone cable (model 2547).

https://www.amazon.com/StrivedayTM-4...01LNH8G72?th=1 2547 cable

The cable has red, white, and black wires and a larger black wire which I assume is the shielding twisted up and shrink wrapped, correct?
I was originally going to say that its a 4 conductore wire, but I believe it’s 3 conductor with shielding.

The larger black shielding wire is soldered to the top side lug and there is an additional short piece of the small black wire jumpered across from the small black wire lug to an empty lug.

With this additional info, can anyone tell me what kind of replacement jack I need?
In addition to the “box” style jack, is there an “open” style jack which would be less prone to breaking? As you can see in the pics, my jack broke off at where the threaded end attaches to the body.
Or . . . Should the box style jack be used for a specific reason in my application?
Thanx for any help!
